University of Reading: Reading ranked in QS World University Rankings 2023

The University of Reading has maintained a strong position in the QS World University Rankings 2023, ranked at 28th place among UK universities and 229 in the world.


The latest world league table, published today, sees Reading continue to score strongly as an international university with high scores for International Faculty, International Students and International Research Network. The University of Reading is continuing to perform among the top 20% of ranked institutions in the latest table.

A spokesperson for the University said:

“Reading has been a global university from our foundation nearly 100 years ago. Today, with campuses on three continents and students and staff from more than 100 countries, we continue to build our worldwide education, research and industry partnerships.

“Our international outlook puts us in the ideal position to do something about the biggest challenges the world faces, and we have a long-term strategy to continue our mission as an institution.”


The league table ranks the performance of 1,422 universities globally. The University of Reading performed particularly strongly for its international focus, with high ratios of international faculty and students, placing Reading at 153 and 139 in the world in these measures, respectively. Reading also maintained strong scores for its reputation with international academics and employers.
