University Of Reading’s Farms Baby Llama Named In Honour Of King Charles

A baby llama has been born on one of the University of Reading’s farms.

The cria (as baby llamas are known) was born on Friday 14 April to its mother Nimbus.

In honour of the upcoming coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, 6 May, students, staff and friends of the University of Reading were asked to vote for the baby’s name.

Voters were given the option of Chaz, Charles and Charlie on the University’s social media channels.

In total, 1,879 votes were cast. Chaz emerged as the clear winner with 52% of the votes, followed by Charlie with 35%, and Charles with 13%.
