University Of Reading’s Santa Run Raises Money For University’s Charities
600 runners donned their Santa outfits and braved the freezing temperatures to raise money for charity this month, as part of the annual Reading Rotary Santa Run.
The race, held on Sunday 11 December, took place on the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus for the first time.
The event consisted of the main 5K Santa Run as well as a 1K Mini Santa & Elf Run, which children were able to take part in.
More than £3,000 was raised and the money will go to two Reading charities: ReadiFood and Starting Point.
Molli Cleaver, Community Relations Manager at the University of Reading, said: “Working in partnership with Reading Rotary Club, it was brilliant to hold this event on campus for the first time and extend a warm welcome to the Reading community, despite the freezing temperatures.
“We are proud to be part of the local community and it has been exciting to find new ways to bring people together.”
