University of São Paulo conducts international event highlighting cutting-edge technologies and scientific research
Between August 28th and September 10th, from 8am to 5pm, the USP Innovation Center (Inova USP) will host the 7th edition of the Infieri Interdisciplinary Summer School , promoted internationally by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) . The event is aimed at Master’s students, PhD students, post-doctoral students and researchers in the areas of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science. After successful editions in places like Oxford, Paris, Hamburg, Wuhan and Madrid, the School arrives in São Paulo to explore the frontiers of science and technology. Focusing on topics such as advanced semiconductors, 4D technologies, photonics, artificial intelligence, big data and quantum technologies, among other relevant issues in the area, the event will bring together renowned researchers from academia, research centers and industry to discuss and share essential knowledge. for scientific progress.
The School will also feature traditional laboratory sessions, which will allow closer interaction with authorities in fundamental research and instrumentation from academia and industry. There will be about 30 practical laboratory sessions that will relate to the main topics presented in classes and lectures and will be a means of deepening the acquired knowledge. The activities take place in institutes and schools in Cidade Universitária, in the Butantã neighborhood, in São Paulo. The locations include the Institute of Physics (IF), the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) and the Polytechnic School (Poli) of USP.
The program also includes the symposium Advanced Technology and Fundamental Research: the incomparable connection , held at the Poli auditorium. The event will serve as a platform for discussions on the intersection between cutting-edge technology and fundamental scientific research.
At the end, there will be a presentation of posters, in which participants will have the opportunity to discuss their research or academic work with the public and a panel of juries that will select and award the three best among the participants.
