University of São Paulo: Pandemic indicators continue to improve in the State of São Paulo
Data from the most recent epidemiological week (July 24-30) show that all
indicators of the pandemic continue to improve in the State of São Paulo. There was a decrease in the
number of new cases/day, in new hospitalizations and in the number of deaths (-8%, -22% and
-18%). The data is compiled weekly by the Scientific Committee that advises the state government and reproduced in the USP-Covid Epidemiological Bulletin , along with data on the pandemic at USP.
In the USP community, there was a significant drop in cases. The number of notifications of covid-19 or flu syndrome recorded on all campuses in the 29 days of July was 460, approximately 60% less compared to the month of June, which closed with a total of 1,137.
The USP Health Advisory Commission continuously monitors the pandemic and points out that the use of masks remains mandatory in closed university environments, as well as on public transport and in health services. In open environments use is not mandatory, but also recommended, whenever there is agglomeration.
