University of São Paulo: USP needs volunteers for a study on birth-related trauma
The Department of Neurosciences and Behavioral Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (FMRP) at USP is looking for volunteers, aged over 18 years, partners of women who had children in the last year for a study on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) linked to birth. The objective of the study is to verify if, in fact, the created questionnaire helps in the identification of people with this problem.
PTSD is a set of unpleasant symptoms (negative mood, agitation, nightmares, among others) triggered by one or more traumatic events experienced or witnessed by the individual. The questionnaire created by the Department of Neuroscience and Behavioral Sciences is an adaptation of the City Birth Trauma Scale , “companion version”.
