Regarding governance matters, the University of South Africa (Unisa) has added another positive building block in shaping intellectual futures by receiving an unqualified audit opinion for its 2021 financial statements.

An unqualified audit opinion means that financial statements of the university are sound in all material aspects. The audit was conducted by an external company.

“We are proud to have been able to sustain our record of obtaining unqualified audit outcomes,” said Khathu Ramukumba, Unisa’s Vice-Principal: Finance. “This is a demonstration of our university’s commitment to compliance with accounting standards.”

Unisa Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Puleng LenkaBula, thanked all relevant role-players who are involved in the university’s efforts to ensure that the institution’s financial status is sound.
