University of South Africa team showcases innovations at Annual Ecom Africa 2023 conference

The Annual Ecom Africa 2023 conference, hosted at the prestigious Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), has ended after two days of stimulating discourse and boundless networking opportunities. Proudly in attendance were over 560 delegates hailing from far-flung corners of the globe, including but not limited to Russia, Spain, India, Botswana and Namibia.

The conference featured presentations from experts across multiple industries and disciplines, with topics ranging from e-commerce and online payments to cyber security, logistics, and the future of marketing. Of course, no such gathering would be complete without the presence of some of the world’s most renowned institutions of higher learning. Therefore, it was with great pleasure that the Unisa participated in this year’s proceedings.

Unisa’s primary goal at the event was to showcase its masters and doctoral programmes and some of its less well-known undergraduate degrees and diplomas to a global audience of prospective students and collaborators. Representatives from various departments across the institution, including the Directorate of Institutional Advancement, the Unisa Centre for Lifelong Learning, the College of Economic and Management Sciences, and the Western Cape region, were on hand to offer their insights and expertise to all those who visited the Unisa exhibition stand.

On the first day alone, Unisa received numerous inquiries regarding postgraduate studies, short-term learning programmes, and undergraduate qualifications. The university’s presence at the event was seen as an invaluable opportunity for attendees and exhibitors alike, as it offers a range of qualifications that help create the next generation of business leaders for the new, dynamic digital economy. Indeed, one such example of this was Yolanda Young, an engineering student who applied for an advanced Diploma in Industrial Engineering through Unisa’s assistance at the event.
