University of Southampton Launches Major Academic Recruitment Drive to Boost Research Excellence
The University of Southampton will build on its world-leading success by appointing up to more than 180 new academics by 2025.
Ambitious researchers and academics will be given the opportunity to join the University as it further strengthens its reputation for education, research excellence and enterprise as part of its Triple Helix strategy.
Southampton, ranked in the world’s top 100 and a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group, is a research-intensive organisation committed to achieving groundbreaking impact of real societal consequence.

A variety of exciting academic roles will be available across all five faculties. There will be a particular focus on four key impact themes – artificial intelligence, sustainability and resilience, decarbonisation and engineering better health – chosen to build on the university’s existing strengths and to address important challenges and opportunities, as well as enhancing disciplinary strengths.
