University of Southern California: Two Screen Scoring alums take home 2021 Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Two USC Thornton Screen Scoring alums took home Creative Arts Emmys at a series of ceremonies in Los Angeles September 11-12. Oscar and GRAMMY Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (GCRT ’08) won in the category of “Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score)”, his second Emmy for his work on Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Carlos Rafael Rivera (DMA ’10) won in the category of “Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special (Original Dramatic Score)” for The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. Rivera also won an Emmy in 2017 for his work on the Netflix series Godless.
