University of Southern California: Watch USC students go for 2021 Capital One College Bowl title
It all comes down to this: the 2021 Capital One College Bowl championship final is tonight, and USC is battling for bragging rights.
Three Trojans square off against a trio from Columbia University in a fight for superiority on the popular quiz show. The broadcast airs on NBC at 10 pm PT tonight. Episodes are also available for streaming on NBC.com and the NBC app.
Cheer on these members of Team USC:
Karan Menon – The team’s captain, this sophomore USC Viterbi School of Engineering computer science student is minoring in cyber security.
Ann Nguyen – A junior majoring in film and television production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, she is a first-generation college student with a flair for telling stories.
Brendan Glascock – Another sophomore computer science major, he also represents USC Viterbi.
Members of the Capital One College Bowl championship team each win $125,000. But all contestants in the final competition, regardless of the outcome, take home winnings to boost their college education and career plans.
Trojans have reached the final several times in its past.
The College Bowl’s current iteration is a revival of the longstanding quiz show that started on radio in the 1950s before appearing on TV in the 1960s. USC won the national championship — beating Dartmouth University — in 1968. Later, in the 1980s, a quiz competition was staged nationally but wasn’t televised; USC hosted the final stages of that competition twice and finished second in 2007.
