University of Strathclyde launches MSc Chemistry with Data Science

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow is inviting applications for its newly launched MSc Chemistry with Data Science course starting in September 2024.
The future of chemistry is resilient, digitally enhanced, multidisciplinary and globally connected. Digital technologies, including data science, will enable chemical sciences researchers to see further and go faster, working seamlessly across disciplinary and international boundaries.
The MSc in Chemistry with Data Science will provide students  with the skills necessary to develop and utilise data science so that they can solve data-intensive chemistry problems and research challenges.
This program offers  bespoke data science modules designed and delivered by expert chemistry researchers.
Upon completion of this degree, graduates will possess an exclusive skill set, blending traditional chemistry knowledge with advanced proficiency in data analysis. This combination makes them highly desirable candidates in diverse industries.Graduates of this course will have excellent employment opportunities for multi-disciplinary data science jobs.

Students will benefit from high-quality teaching from across two Departments in the Faculty of Science: the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry and the Department of Computer & Information Sciences

Students will  also study courses designed by data scientists from the Department of Computing and Information Sciences:

  • Machine Learning for Data Analytics
In addition,  students will have the opportunity to apply all this new theoretical knowledge as part of a major research project, in partnership with  the university’s expert researchers.
 
Eligibility- Minimum second-class (2:2) Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject such as Chemistry, Computing Science, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or closely related subject. English language minimum score of IELTS 6.0 (with no component below 5.5).
Fee – £26,100 for international students for 2024/25
