The University of Texas at Austin and H-E-B are partnering to offer campus grocery delivery to students, faculty members and staffers. Everything H-E-B offers online – from bread, milk and vegetables to toilet paper, make-up and aspirin – can be ordered online through a smartphone H-E-B app or through heb.com. Users can select a delivery time and location.

“Being able to offer this service is a great resource for students who don’t have time to shop or who don’t have transportation beyond campus, helping them easily access the groceries and supplies they need,” said Soncia Reagins-Lilly, vice president for student affairs and dean of students.

Same-day shopping and delivery are available. Personal shoppers will handpick the items, and Favor delivery drivers will deliver the goods to the indicated campus location. Door-to-door delivery is also available to all students, including those living off campus. The Favor runners can use one of the four designated parking spots on campus: Jester Circle, Jester Residence Hall (201 E. 21st St.), Kinsolving Residence Hall (2605 Whitis Ave.) and Bass Concert Hall (2350 Robert Dedman Road). Shoppers will receive a text when the Favor driver leaves the store, and the two will coordinate an exact pick-up location.

Meal items can be ordered, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, bakery, dairy, frozen foods, beverages and pantry items. Beyond groceries, health and wellness items, cleaning supplies, school supplies, storage bins, organizational supplies, home décor and more are available.

“H-E-B has been a proud sponsor of UT academic programs and research since 1976 and is fortunate to have hundreds of Longhorns that work in our company today,” said Laura Estes, Central Texas marketing director for H-E-B. “Through the years, our partnership has become a source of pride for both organizations. In this spirit, we’ve launched on-campus H-E-B delivery to the University of Texas at Austin community. As a former Longhorn, I hope this added perk becomes a widely used convenience for all students.”

The university and H-E-B have had a symbiotic relationship, and the delivery service is a natural extension of the long established relationship. The corporation has supported UT Austin programs and research, donating more than $6.6 million.

“For more than a century, H-E-B and UT Austin have shared a mission to strengthen Texas through excellence in education, commitment to diversity and efforts to make our communities resilient,” said Kelsey Evans, the university’s executive director for corporate relations. “As we look to the future and the changing face of commerce, we are proud to become one of H-E-B’s newest Campus Delivery Hubs, a step that will ensure all Longhorns have access to affordable nutrition.”
