The NSS seeks the views of final-year undergraduate students across the UK every year. The survey enables higher education providers to continuously evaluate, improve and benchmark the courses they offer, and it helps to inform decisions made by prospective students about where to study.

There were significant changes to the NSS 2023, which means that it is not possible to do a comparative analysis of previous iterations of the survey. Read more about the changes and how the results are used to enhance our students’ experience.

Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick said: “As we approach the upcoming academic year, the feedback from our students is invaluable in shaping our path forward. Our graduating students, who began their journey amidst the challenges of the Covid pandemic, have shown remarkable resilience. The National Student Survey highlights the determination of our students and the consistent dedication of our staff to provide the best possible learning experience.”

The National Student Survey is one of the largest of its kind in the world with 339,000 responses across the UK this year. Today’s results show a 71.5% overall response rate from students on their experiences of higher education, up from 68.6 per cent in 2022. Students from the University of Warwick who were eligible to participate accounted for 3,755 of those responses, a 71.6% response rate. This was an increase of nearly 10% compared to 2022.

The University of Warwick ranks 8th in the UK according to the Guardian University Guide and 9th in the Times 2023 Good University Guide.
