University of York confered honorary degree to man behind JLF, entrepreneur of the arts, Sanjoy Roy

New Delhi: University of York confered honorary degree to man behind annual iconic Jaipur Literature Festival, entrepreneur of the arts, Sanjoy Roy.

Sanjoy is Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, which produces festivals all over the world, including the world’s largest free literary gathering, the annual Jaipur Literature Festival.

Sanjoy is a founder-trustee of Salaam Baalak Trust, working to provide support services for street children in Delhi where over 130,000 children have benefited from education, training and residential services.

An award-winning director, Sanjoy works closely with various cultural industry bodies in India and is co-chair of the Art and Culture Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He is a former President of Event and Entertainment Management Association and is part of the Earth Day Network’s official Global Advisory Committee for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020.

Sanjoy has lectured at and works in collaboration with leading universities across the world.
