Unmaad 2020 kicks off with plays, music and dance at IIMB

Bangalore: Students of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore launched their annual cultural fest, Unmaad 2020, with spectacular performances by artistes from all over the world as part of the World Cultural Fiesta (WCF). Themed ‘Box Office Edition’, this year Unmaad is hosting a range of events from January 31 – February 2.

Unmaad 2020 saw the day begin with ‘Nukkad Natak’, an event where participants from colleges across the country shared social messages through plays. Bringing music and nifty moves onto the same stage were freestyle dancers in ‘Footloose’. Young musicians held sway at ‘B-Tuned’ and ‘Can You Duet?’ ‘Wordopedia’ had participants digging deep into their repertory of words, while ‘The Silent Movie’ proved to be an exciting game of charades.

The Fashion & Fine Arts segment had the crowd enthralled as participants themed their entries around movies of yore, while ‘Caught in the Act’, an acrylic poster-making contest, gave the participants a chance to showcase their brush strokes. ‘I’m Sherlocked’, a mystery-solving challenge, and ‘Gangs of Unmaad’ were much applauded for their ingenuity of design. The day also saw a pro-show by Euphoria, an Indian pop rock band, who got the audience grooving to their tunes, including IIM Bangalore’s beloved song ‘Maeri’. The first day of Unmaad 2020 ended with ‘Unplugged Nights’, featuring fairy lights, bonfires, and more music.
