UNSW partners with Monash to further expand 360info newswire

Global digital newswire 360info is continuing to grow with the University of New South Wales Sydney (UNSW) becoming the latest university to partner with the public-interest journalism initiative.

Launched by Monash University in 2021, 360info operates as a wire agency with a dedicated focus on disseminating credible information sourced from leading research universities worldwide. The primary objective is to foster well-informed public discourse on critical global issues, including climate change, geopolitical security, and the development of thriving communities.

As a 360info partner UNSW joins The University of Sydney and Indian universities Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies and O.P. Jindal Global University.

Under the new partnership UNSW has agreed to host a 360info editorial hub, and has appointed Sam Hendricks as a Senior Commissioning Editor.

Mr Hendricks brings a raft of professional experience as an editor, writer, and media adviser for organisations like the Lowy Institute, Amnesty International, Deloitte and International SOS, and has worked for United Nations operations in Afghanistan, Sudan and Timor-Leste and for the UN humanitarian office and UNICEF in New York.

“This new collaboration with UNSW is another exciting opportunity for the advancement of 360info, and exemplifies the shared commitment our universities have made to upholding public-interest journalism and elevating research-led solutions to the world’s most significant challenges,” said Monash University President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Gardner, AC

“By leveraging the expertise and resources of institutions such as Monash and UNSW, 360info is greatly enhancing widespread public access to high-quality, solutions-driven journalism that informs and empowers. We are pleased to welcome UNSW aboard this vital initiative and sincerely thank them for their commitment to further advancing the mission of 360info,” said  Professor Gardner.

Editor-in-Chief and Director of 360info, Andrew Jaspan said he was delighted to welcome UNSW as a partner, and Sam Hendricks as a Senior Commissioning Editor.

“UNSW is a powerhouse research university with a commitment to research, innovation and critically, sharing knowledge for the benefit of society, and its mission closely aligns with 360info.”

In the 18 months since the initiative was launched, 360info has established hubs across the Asia Pacific, and developed a global network of hundreds of academic institutions, researchers and media publishers.

In March 360info was awarded a perfect 100/100 trust rating by prestigious U.S. ratings agency NewsGuard.
