UPES Dehradun ranked 65 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022
New Delhi: Union Minister of Education, India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan announced the NIRF rankings 2022 for all colleges and institutions across the country and Dehradun based UPES has been ranked 65. Along with the university ranking, School of Engineering at UPES has been ranked 61, School of Business has been ranked 41 among management institutions and UPES School of Law has been ranked 21 in India.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education to rank institutions of higher education in India and is released under various categories, like Overall College, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Medical, Architecture, Dental and Research and covers various parameters like teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.
Commenting on the rankings, Dr Sunil Rai, Vice Chancellor, UPES said, “It is a proud moment for UPES to be among the top institutions in India. Our university ranking along with individual school rankings have been moving up year after year and we remain committed to our vision of being an institution of global standing. It is a huge achievement for UPES and we will continue to revolutionise education combining world class teaching practices and strong academia and nurturing students as future changemakers.”
Various factors have led to the success of UPES including:
Placements: This year UPES witnessed unparalleled placements, with over 4000 offers by recruiters, amounting to a staggering 20+ offers per day. With placements across more than 20 sectors in Indian and global corporations, UPES placement figures and annual packages have surpassed previous numbers, a remarkable feat for the university. UPES School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Health Sciences and Technology, and School of Business have also achieved a 100% placement record this year.
Academic Excellence: UPES is noted for its academic excellence which combines world class teaching practices and strong academia. The university has been the frontrunner in adopting modern technology and learning methods and the faculty are acclaimed academicians hailing from universities around the world including Fulbright Scholars, Rhodes Scholars, Chevening, DAAD, Erasmus and Commonwealth Scholars, as well as from top Indian institutions. UPES stands tall as a hub of exploration with the research output which has doubled in last one year.
