UPS Filler hosts program on Girls Education, Gender Discrimination

 

KISHTWAR : To spread awareness on Girl Education and motivate people to provide equal opportunity to girls at home and at work places, Government Upper Primary School Filler -Zone Kishtwar hosted a day long awareness programme on the Girl Education and Gender Discrimination.

The programme was organised on the direction of CEO Sudershan Kumar Sharma under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

Zonal Education Officer Kishtwar Ranvir Singh along with Sarpanch Fillar A Shamas Deen, HOI of host Institution Rajesh Parihar, Zonal Nodal Officer Aadhar Sheela Zone Kishtwar Sanjeet Kumar, Co-ordinator Girls’ education and Gender Discrimination Raj Kumar graced the occasion.

Staff, Parents and children of GUPS Filler and 15 other schools of cluster Thakrie also participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Student speakers threw light on the various aspects of girl education and sensitized the participants about the need for gender equality.

In his address, the ZEO Kishtwar Ranbir Singh stated that there was a lot in common between education and gender equality- both are instrumental for the development of a society as also intrinsic to living in a society and interacting with fellow beings.

He urged the parents and PRIs to spread the awareness about the importance of girl child education and eradication of gender discrimination.

Rajesh Parihar (HM), Zakir Hussain (Tr.),Sanjeet Kumar and Sarpanch Fillar A also spoke on the occasion and shared their insight about the education of girl child and eradication of gender discrimination in the society.
