Ural Federal University: 723 UrFU Students at the Final Stage of the I am a Professional Olympiad
The Ural Federal University is one of the universities with the largest number of participants in the final stage of the I am a Professional Russian Student Olympiad. 723 students of Ural Federal University were invited to the final competitions.
“The long-awaited results of the online qualifying stage are already in the personal accounts of each participant. Professional knowledge and the desire to be the first is the key to victory. It is these components that will not only lead you to success in the Olympiad, but also make you a leader in life. Rely on your knowledge, be committed to your goals and appreciate every successful step,” Valeria Kasamara, the head of the I am a Professional Olympiad, noted.
The online qualifying round was held in December. Students were able to test their knowledge in tests in one or more of 72 areas – from journalism to quantum technology. The four areas of competition for all students in Russia are organized by Urals Federal University.
“Three of our four majors also lead in the number of students invited to the final round. These are software engineering (907 students), construction (798), and materials science (721). For the most motivated participants right now there are one-week educational forums in Sochi. At the intensives, students get acquainted with industry trends, receive advice from employers, and practice the flexible skills necessary for employment,” said Maxim Shnyrev, head of the Division for Continuing Education and Career Guidance at UrFU.
The final stage of the Olympiad will last from mid-February to the end of April. This year, due to the epidemiological situation in most areas, it will be organized online. Some courses will be held in two rounds – semi-finals and finals. Students will receive practice-oriented tasks from the organizing universities and partner companies.
All participants in the qualifying round received bonuses from the Olympiad partners: promo codes from Yandex.Praktikum and the Other Business platform, discounts on any training program at Netology, premium subscriptions from MyBook, as well as free books and discounts from LitRes.
The diploma holders of the I am a Professional Olympiad will be known in May 2022, when the organizers will sum up the results of the final stage. Depending on their scores, graduates are divided into medalists, winners, and medalists. They will be able to use the benefits of admission to master’s, postgraduate and residency programs of the leading Russian universities and will have an opportunity to undertake an internship in a major specialized company. For gold, silver and bronze medalists of the Olympiad there is an additional bonus – bonuses in the amount from 100 to 300 thousand rubles.
