Ural Federal University Advances Cooperation With The United Arab Emirates

The Ural Federal University and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, development of educational programs and intelligent applications, exchange of teaching materials, publications and other scientific information. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi. Earlier the delegation of the organization visited the Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg.

The Memorandum also provides for joint research projects, the creation of Master’s programs and additional educational programs for the training of specialists in the field of Psychology. The document was signed by Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University, and His Excellency Abdullah Abudalee Al Humaidan, General Secretary of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination.

The signing ceremony took place during the visit of a delegation of the Ural Federal University to the organization’s headquarters to learn about its experience in care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, its educational and rehabilitation services, psychological and social assistance.

The delegation from Ekaterinburg was introduced to a café project run by people with disabilities. They also visited the sewing and carpentry workshops in the vocational rehabilitation workshops. They also visited the “Smart Robot” rehabilitation laboratory, the first integrated laboratory of a treatment and rehabilitation center in the Middle East. In addition, the delegation visited a therapeutic swimming pool, one of the most advanced treatment facilities in the UAE, which provides hydrotherapy services for people with disabilities.

“Our organization believes in the necessity of joint fruitful international cooperation serving common interests and goals. This cooperation is aimed at using the great experience of the Ural Federal University in our work for the benefit of our stations, investing in the global technological breakthrough of AI, creating laboratories for psychological and neurological diagnostics. We are also interested in organizing joint seminars, conferences and exhibitions, and using UrFU’s experience in the field of sports for people with disabilities,” Abdullah Abudalee Al Humaidan added.

In turn, Victor Koksharov noted that the signed memorandum will be a big step forward not only in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two organizations. It will also strengthen the partnership and friendly relations between the two countries.

“The Ural Federal University and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will work together to develop inclusive educational programs for people with disabilities, cooperate in psychotherapy, neuropsychology, and pedagogy. We will unite our scientific schools to conduct joint cutting-edge research for the benefit of all mankind,” the rector said.

The delegation included Vyacheslav Yerin, the Minister of International Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, Victor Koksharov, the Rector of the Ural Federal University, Elvira Symanyuk, the Director of the Ural Institute of Humanities, and Dmitry Chernikhov, the Deputy Director for the Development of Advertising Programs and Social Partnership.
