Ural Federal University: Aleksey Fayustov: We Actively Involve Students and High School Students in Promoting

Ural Federal University ranked first in social media activity of Russian universities – the data for October were provided by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In the overall list, considering the work with the media and the portal, UrFU ranks second.

“Several university blogs are run by students, and this is paying off. We notice that when representatives of the student media center, the promotion team, and the school editorial office speak the same language as the target audience, communication becomes more effective,” says Aleksey Fayustov, Ural Federal University Vice Rector for Information Policy.

Elena Druzhinina, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, is convinced that the study reflects the educational, scientific and social life of Russian universities. She also added that the rating will influence the assessment of the rectors’ effectiveness, conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

Rating of media activity of higher educational institutions for October was presented today in Moscow during the online conference: the successful cases of the research leaders were considered, the growth dynamics of indicators for the past quarter (July-October) were reflected and the results of the introduction of an objective system for evaluating the effectiveness of universities in the media space were highlighted.
