Ural Federal University: Analyst World Games Case Championship Was Held at the University

The Ural Federal University Graduate School of Economics and Management completed the case championship “World Analyst Games” from the International Economics and Business educational program. 23 teams of students in grades 10-11 and first-year students of the program presented case solutions related to the real situation in the fast casual industry, taking into account the global experience of industry players and the implementation of digital end-to-end technologies.

Participants gained invaluable experience in solving cases, as well as received certificates and diplomas, gifts from the organizers and corporate partners, and the opportunity to take an internship and receive career counseling. This year the best teams among high school students receive two additional points toward the Unified State Exam.

“Сreativity, ambition, and working for results are the secret to the success of future global analysts. I am sure that a career starts not with the first job or internship, but from the moment a person thinks about it. The Analysts World Games Case Championship is a unique opportunity to dive into the world of business and try to find a solution to complex problems. Every year we meet a lot of young talented students who confidently pursue their goal, it’s inspiring. I thank the team of creators for the brilliant organization of the event and hope to continue working together,” commented Elena Kabanova, manager of the Corporate Services Department at PwC Ekaterinburg.

During the month the teams participated in a series of master classes from the organizers and partners of the event: the case club team explained how to work with the task and how to effectively organize teamwork, what advantages experienced students have during training and in hiring. Maxim Raev, Development Director of Sobolev Cheese Dairy and the team of Zhiznmart franchise gave participants an introduction and shared industry specifics, and Elena Kabanova, Manager of PwC Ekaterinburg, revealed the secrets of presentation design and the successful defense of ideas. It is important to note that the program “International Economics and Business” traditionally includes project activity – students solve real economic and analytical problems of the real sector of economy.

Projects were defended in front of an expert jury comprised of representatives from PwC Russia, Zhiznmart, Sobolev Cheese, lecturers from the International Economics and Business program, and experienced case managers from the UrFU club. In each nomination among schoolchildren and students there were determined their winners.
