Ural Federal University and Tanta University Forge New Partnership Agreement
The Rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov and the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research of Tanta University Prof. Hatem Al Sayed Amin Mohammed Ahemd signed an online agreement to cooperate in research and to exchange students and staff. Initially, the interaction between the two universities will cover teaching Arabic and Russian languages, as well as nuclear and renewable energy.
The participants also agreed to establish an Arabic language chair at the Ural Federal University, a Russian language chair, and a renewable energy chair at Tanta University. As for the exchange of students, it will focus mainly on PhD students and will take three to nine months (with the possibility of extension to three or four years for Master’s and doctoral students). University staff will also be invited to give lectures at the partner university.
Tanta University is one of the largest universities in Egypt with more than 100 thousand students. The number of university units includes 16 colleges and technical institutes. These are Colleges of Medicine, Science, Education, Commerce, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Arts, Law, Nursing, Engineering, Agriculture, Physical Education, Special Education and Applied Arts.
In contrast to Egypt’s metropolitan universities, which specialize in the fundamentals of nuclear engineering, Tanta University offers a more applied (engineering) educational process, has experience in training energy engineers, and is also a language training center under the auspices of the Arab League
