Ural Federal University: Ekaterinburg Students Enhance CVs, Secure Vacancies, and Internships

32 partner companies of the Ural Federal University and 16 other divisions of the Rosatom State Corporation, which includes the UrFU in its consortium of universities, will take part in the Career Time event this Friday. The event will begin at 16:00 in the main building at 19 Mira Street in Ekaterinburg.

“The University is doing a lot to make starting a career less stressful for young professionals and more a natural part of being a student. This is evidenced by the fact that 90% of students are employed after graduation. Career Time is one of the key points in the career development of UrFU students. This year the project is 10 years old and twice a year it is eagerly awaited by both students and our partners. It is a great opportunity for everyone to save time and effort, as representatives of leading companies and talented, proactive students are concentrated on one platform”, says Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

The program of the event traditionally includes an exhibition of the university’s employer partners, lectures and master classes by experts from these companies. In addition, HR specialists will roast students’ resumes: students will learn how to improve their resumes in order to get an offer faster. As usual, participants will leave with gifts from the partners.

“The main value of the IT sphere is people. In order to find them and help them navigate through dozens of professions, we have been cooperating with UrFU for many years and traditionally participate in the Career Time campaign. It is only through cooperation between business and education that it is possible to train the personnel that the market requires. This year Kontur will hold its own master class – students will be taught how to create an ideal resume. Also at the Kontur stand it will be possible to subscribe to a special newsletter with job offers. It is not necessary to be a programmer – in the IT industry there is always a demand for technical support specialists, sales people, marketing specialists, project managers and other personnel who ensure stable operation of the entire cycle of production and support of products”, says Alexandra Batina, Contour’s HR Director.

In addition to Kontur, this year’s partners include TMK, Rosatom State Corporation, Sinara Bank, Sinara Group, Vkusno i Tochka, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, Alfa-Bank, Sovcombank, Rusal, Polyplastic Group, and others.

In addition, the participants of the event will discuss the peculiarities of technical education at universities: a discussion on the topic “Engineers in the modern labor market: a new oil or an exaggerated trend” is planned.
