Ural Federal University: Formation of a Common Humanitarian Space between Russia and Kyrgyzstan to Be Discussed at University
The II Forum of Rectors of Russian and Kyrgyz Universities will take place at the Ural Federal University on June 8. The forum will take place on the margins of the IX Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference. Sixty heads of universities from the Russian side and 30 from the Kyrgyz side are expected to participate.
The forum will be co-chaired by Victor Sadovnichy, the President of the Russian Union of Rectors and rector of Moscow State University, and Abdylda Musaev, Chairman of the Association of the Kyrgyz Republic Universities and rector of the Bishkek State University.
“Russia and Kyrgyzstan are among the most active participants in the process of scientific and educational integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. The II Forum of Rectors of Universities of our countries will become a reference point on the trajectory of convergence of higher education systems and the formation of a single humanitarian space,” said Victor Sadovnichy.
He also noted that it is important to analyze how the already concluded agreements work and what has been done in the three years since the first forum in Bishkek.
The heads of universities of the two countries will discuss the possibility of deepening inter-university cooperation, scientific and educational initiatives within the Eurasian Economic Union.
“We have relationships with 17 partner organizations in Kyrgyzstan. There are 52 Kyrgyz students studying at the university, there is an Kyrgyz Student Association, and a branch of the Alumni Association has been established. I am sure that the topics to be discussed by the rector community will help to bring the two countries closer in cultural, scientific, and educational spheres,” said Victor Koksharov, rector of UrFU.
The forum will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Moscow and the Russian Embassy in Bishkek.
The program of the forum includes sessional meetings on the preparation of competitive personnel development of strategic inter-university partnership and scientific cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. There will also be a ceremony of signing bilateral agreements between the rectors of the leading universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
