Ural Federal University: Frank-Walter Steinmeier Reappointed as German President

President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been reelected for a second term. The honorary doctor of the Ural Federal University has been president of Germany since March 19, 2017.

“Dear Herr Steinmeier! Allow me to sincerely congratulate you on your appointment as President of the Federal Republic of Germany on behalf of the Ural Federal University and on my own behalf. The high level of approval in the Federal Assembly is a sign of great trust,” Victor Koksharov, rector of the Ural Federal University, says.

Victor Koksharov notes that UrFU values the preservation of the positive potential accumulated over a long period of cooperation with partners from Germany.

“We highly appreciate joint German-Russian projects and are always happy to support them. At the same time, we have always felt your help and assistance. We know that your work is full of respect for our country’s culture,” notes the rector.

Victor Koksharov expressed special gratitude and appreciation to Frank-Walter Steinmeier for his tireless and admirable contribution to intercultural understanding.

“In this sense, I am very pleased to continue and strengthen together with you the friendly and trusting relations between our countries.
