Ural Federal University Grads Became Honorary Citizens of Ekaterinburg
Sergey Moskvin, a graduate of the Chemistry Department of the Ural State University (now UrFU), chemistry teacher of gymnasium No. 9, and Mikhail Khodorovsky, Head of the Department of Banking and Investment Management of UrFU, President of Sinara Group JSC, became honorary citizens of Ekaterinburg.
The decision was made by the deputies of the Ekaterinburg City Duma during the regular meeting on August 8.
The official site of the mayor’s office reports that the head of Ekaterinburg Alexei Orlov held a meeting of the commission on awarding the honorary title, the participants of which according to the results of the rating vote presented candidates.
Usually this title is awarded to one person a year on the eve of the City Day. However, in the year of Ekaterinburg’s 300th anniversary the deputies made a change in the relevant provision – the title “Honorary Citizen of Ekaterinburg” in 2023 will be awarded to no more than 10 people. Now until September 30, labor collectives of the Urals capital have the opportunity to present candidates by submitting petitions. And on the historic City Day, November 18, six more worthy residents of the metropolis will be able to join the ranks of honorary citizens of Ekaterinburg.
