Ural Federal University: Graduate Student Awarded Highly at the Young Scientists Contest
Polina Platonova, a second-year Master’s student of the Department of Art History and Museum Studies at the Ural Federal University, took third place at the IX All-Russian Contest of Young Scholars in Art and Culture with her research “The Book of the Artist” in the work of Evgeny Strelkov: the experience of categorization”. The research supervisor was Tamara Galeeva, Associate Professor of the Department.
On November 16, with the support of Friedrich Lips Foundation, the awards ceremony was held at the Russian Institute of Art History (St. Petersburg), where Polina was awarded the III degree diploma in the category “Theory and History of Art and Culture”. The researchers, students and PhD students of higher educational institutions and research institutes up to the age of 35 years were invited to participate in the competition.
“For many years, graduates of our department have become diploma holders of various degrees in this competition, thus confirming their competence and demand for contemporary art history science,” commented Vera Avdeeva, Head of the Department of Art History and Museum Studies.
The All-Russian Competition for Young Researchers in Arts and Culture is held in order to preserve and develop the system of art education and science in the field of arts and culture in Russia. The project is coordinated by the Russian Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage named after Dmitry Likhachev.
