Ural Federal University: Graduates and Students with Disabilities Meet with Employers

Employees of the Center for Inclusive Education of the Department of Academic Development of Ural Federal University held a meeting with employers for students with disabilities, as well as graduates who graduated from the university in 2022, and graduates of previous years who have not found a job yet.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ural Main Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, PJSC ROSSETI, a branch of JSC Russian Power System Operator.

Students and graduates learned about the conditions and opportunities for professional growth and development.

“Despite the fact that the meeting was held online, the participants were very active: they asked questions, were interested in the conditions and asked for employers’ contacts to reach them after the event and discuss the details. We hope that our event will help graduates with disabilities to become part of successful and developing companies,” said Natalia Rudakova, Director of the Center for Inclusive Education.

In addition, the meeting was attended by a representative of the Ekaterinburg Employment Center, who spoke about special programs. For example, “Graduates Employment Assistance” and “Employment Assistance for People with Disabilities”. By participating in these programs, students and graduates can receive financial assistance, and they can also be provided with a temporary job under a fixed-term employment contract, after which an open-ended employment contract can be signed.

“If the employment in the acquired profession is difficult, for example, there are no vacancies, with the personal consent of the graduate he or she will be offered a job in another profession, which will contribute to the acquisition of job skills and increase his or her competitiveness in the labor market,” said Victoria Manaeva, Leading Inspector of Department for Interaction with Employers of Ekaterinburg Employment Center.
