Ural Federal University: IT Career Conference To Be Held At University

Four projects of Ural Federal University became winners of the All-Russian contest of youth projects for universities. A grant from Rosmolodezh (Federal Agency for Youth Affairs) was also awarded to the UrFU Student Union. The activists will hold a student conference in the IT sphere “Career in the Meta-Universe”.

“We are actively involved in the topic of careers and employment, including IT, but “Career in the Meta-Universe” is a completely new and unique product. It is very important for us to create opportunities for students at our university and beyond. The implementation of such projects is a significant point of growth for the UrFU Student Union,” said Maria Kremeshkova, Deputy Chair of the UrFU Student Union for Project Activities.

The target audience of the project is university students studying in the IT field. It is planned to hold the conference in October 2022, and to create a platform for communication between business, government and education to search, discuss and systematize data on career opportunities in the changing IT labor market.

The outcome of the conference will be not only the formation of students’ and businesses’ understanding of career trajectories, but also the designation of those competencies and skills that will be in demand in the near future. The event will take place at Ural Federal University over two days in a hybrid format. About 700 specialists will take part in it. The program includes three blocks: education, discussion, and project.
