The IV International School of History of the Russian Historical Society completed its work at Ural Federal University. More than 150 students from universities in Russia and 39 foreign countries participated at the event. A rich program was prepared for students: thematic lectures, excursions, round tables and much more. The main result of their work was projects aimed at popularizing the Russian historical heritage.

“It was interesting to attend the defense of your projects. You presented five projects, all very different, and at the same time, in one way or another, related to digitalization and digital technology. This shows that you are going with the time and have a practical approach to history. Your projects aim to reach a wide audience, to popularize our heritage. All projects are a good basis for their further development. Especially noteworthy is the interest of foreign students in Russian history and their desire to create joint projects with their Russian colleagues,” said Dmitry Bugrov, First Vice Rector of UrFU.

The winner of the competition was the team of the History of Russian Literature track, which presented a project for an educational platform of literary and historical commentary. This is a unified support resource for students of educational institutions, which will allow to illustrate the cultural and historical context of different eras by the example of the texts of Russian literature. The project was evaluated by the partners who provided the sites for the educational tracks. They have already invited the team to create a website dedicated to the parsing of Eugene Onegin novel by Alexander Pushkin. The winners will receive a scholarship from the History of the Fatherland Foundation.

The other teams also presented projects aimed at attracting young audiences to the study of historical heritage. For example, students presented concepts for a mobile application of an educational game about the history of the Moscow Empire and a role-playing situation game devoted to the times of Peter the Great. Two projects were devoted to tourism – an aggregator of tourist routes to industrial sites and an interactive map of Urals monuments related to the Great Patriotic War.
