Ural Federal University Launches Innovative AI Master’s Program

The Ural Federal University jointly with the National Institute of Business Management of Sri Lanka launches a network Master’s program in Practical Artificial Intelligence. The agreement was signed on July 16 by Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU, and Dr. D.M.A. Kulasooriya, Director General and Vice Chancellor of NIBM.

Training under the new program will begin on September 1 and will last for two years. The program will include disciplines such as Web Technologies in Business, Web Application Development, Natural Language Processing, Mobile Application Development, Business Analysis Tools, and several others.

“This cooperation aims to broaden the educational horizons of students in both countries. The partnership with UrFU is an important milestone in international academic cooperation. The launch of the Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence in Sri Lanka is a testament to our institutions’ commitment to providing excellence in education and talent development globally. It will focus on critical areas such as big data analytics, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence”, says Dr. D.M.A. Kulasooriya.

The National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) in Sri Lanka has a rich history of over 55 years, during which it has grown to become the leading institution of higher learning in the country. Today, NIBM operates as an autonomous, internationally recognized degree-granting institute. NIBM strives to be the leading educational institution in Sri Lanka.

The delegation from Sri Lanka also met with representatives of the UrFU International Office – Sergey Tushin, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Evgeniya Saburova, Head of the International Marketing Office, Natalia Kovaleva, Academic Mobility Coordinator. The sides discussed the possibilities of academic exchange, joint research projects, and student mobility programs. UrFU and NIBM plan to organize joint conferences, seminars, and workshops that will contribute to an active academic dialogue between Russia and Sri Lanka. They also discussed the possibility of conducting online webinars and seminars involving the corporate sector of IT companies in Sri Lanka, mentoring and support for alumni, and the development of the branch of the UrFU Alumni Association at NIBM.
