Ural Federal University: Orphans Will Receive New Year’s Gifts from the University’s Employees
By tradition, the Ural Federal University held a charity event to collect New Year’s gifts for children from the social-rehabilitation center for minors in Kamyshlov district and Kirovgrad boarding school. Presents were collected for 27 children from Kamyshlov (aged 4-17) and 161 children from Kirovgrad (aged 7-17, some children have disabilities, many from low-income families).
“Employees, students and graduates of the university again took an active part in the “Christmas Tree of Wishes” action. The children were, as always, presented with sweet gifts by Mikhail Klimenko, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk Region. This is the second year our partner is “EK company” (Vladimir Platunov, General Director). Besides personal gifts for children, our benefactors also presented a desktop, a keyboard and a mouse to Kamyshlov district or the Kirovgrad boarding school with a big artificial Christmas tree,” said Elena Osipchukova, coordinator of the campaign and Deputy Director of the UrFU Center for Alumni Relations.
A lot of surprises were prepared for kids: constructors, kits for creativity, headphones, speakers, sports shoes and equipment, cars, beauty-cases, children’s quadcopters, books, board games, soft toys, etc. Residents of the Kamyshlov District Children’s and Youth Center, who study at colleges and universities, will receive household appliances.
“We thank representatives of all departments of the university, who joined the action! Gifts will be given to the institutions on December 22 (Kamyshlov) and on December 23 (Kirovgrad),” Elena Osipchukova adds.
