Ural Federal University: Over 800 Sverdlovsk Residents Eager to Volunteer for World Friendship Games
The Volural Volunteer Center based at the Ural Federal University continues to recruit volunteers for the World Friendship Games 2024. More than 800 region residents have applied for participation in the first month. The federal organizing committee registered applications from 7,000 volunteers in total.
“It is nice to see that the residents of the Sverdlovsk region are actively involved in the preparation and holding of such a historic and important event for the country, which is the first World Friendship Games. Local volunteers like no one else will be able to introduce guests and participants of the tournament to the unique ambience, historical and cultural features of the region,” said Anastasia Kondrashova, Head of the Games Volunteer Program Management.
Recruitment of volunteers was announced on March 6 in Sochi as part of the World Youth Festival. The UrFU Volunteer Center was included in the number of certified and resource centers that will attract and select candidates for the WFG volunteers. Volunteers will support the organizers in more than 20 functional areas in two cities of the competitions: Moscow and Ekaterinburg.
Candidates must be members of the dobro.ru platform, be over 18 years of age, and English language skills are required for certain roles. Applications will be accepted until July 1. Training sessions will begin after selection.
