Ural Federal University: Preparatory Department for Foreign Students Celebrates 10th Anniversary

On May 6 at the new campus of the UrFU in the Novokoltsovsky district, there was a solemn celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students.

A large festive concert was held and honorary diplomas and letters of recognition were awarded to the faculty and staff. Not only the creative teams of UrFU but also the teachers and students of the Preparatory Department delighted the guests with their brilliant performances.

“Today the Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia and the first among the universities in the Urals in terms of the number of international students enrolled in various university programs – undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate. This year alone there are more than 4000 international students at UrFU, a significant part of them are former students of the Preparatory Department. During the 10 years of existence of the Preparatory Department, more than 3000 language certificates have been issued”, noted Rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov in his speech.

The beloved department was congratulated not only by the current students but also by the graduates of the past years, who recorded video congratulations with warm wishes. The auditorium was filled with 350 preparatory students, faculties, and staff.
