Ural Federal University Prioritizes Scientific And Educational Cooperation With The Republic Of Belarus
The Ural Federal University is open for cooperation and scientific and educational cooperation with universities, scientific organizations and enterprises of Belarus. This was announced today by Victor Koksharov, the rector of UrFU, during the round table “Universities of Russia and Belarus – Drivers of Economic, Scientific and Educational Development of the Two Countries” at Innoprom.
“We see the development of joint double degree programs as a promising area of cooperation. Such experience has been developed with a number of countries, both in the CIS and in the Far East. For example, we have active and fruitful cooperation with China, where we have 2,000 students. Soon we will open a joint university in China. We also provide good professional retraining for enterprises under the programs of additional professional education. We are ready to offer a large number of programs to our colleagues in Belarus and, in turn, to use the experience and resources of our colleagues’ universities in our educational process,” Victor Koksharov said.
Among the priority areas of cooperation, the rector mentioned joint scientific research, consortia with companies, repository, and scholarships for talented students.
“We see a promising model of networking based on the needs of companies implementing their projects in Belarus and Russia. We have positive experience with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, when we prepare target teams to meet the needs of enterprises. The same can be done with Belarus: joint double degree programs, projects tailored to the tasks of enterprises, organization of cross-practices and internships. We ask our colleagues to respond, we have the resources to do so,” concluded the rector of UrFU.
In addition, the Ural Federal University is ready to provide universities in Belarus with free access to its online resources and general online content, to the electronic library, which is one of the best in the world: the resources of the UrFU library are among the 40 best electronic archives in the world, according to Web of Metrics, noted the rector.
