Ural Federal University: Prospective International Students Visit the University

On July 21, at Ural Federal University the International Office organized a meeting for international students from Russian universities. Students from Egypt, Ecuador, Indonesia and Nigeria came to Ekaterinburg on that special occasion. Each of them considers UrFU for either Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree studies. Currently the students are enrolled at different universities in Izhevsk, Chelyabinsk, Arkhangelsk and Tomsk. A number of events aimed at getting to know the university were organized for students.

After a short informal tea party, Sergey Tushin, the Vice-Rector for International Relations gave a welcome speech and told the prospective students about the possibilities provided by the University in academic, sports and social spheres. Kamran Guseynov, a representative of the International Office together with the representatives of the Institute of Chemical Engineering and the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems gave a presentation about the university. Shortly after that, Iakov Firsov, the Head of the Center for International Students Adaptation spoke about the living conditions in the dormitories, activities and cultural events held by the university and in the city of Ekaterinburg.

One of the main events was a sightseeing. The students learnt many interesting facts about the Capital of the Ural.
