Ural federal university: Rector Congratulates Students and Teachers on Victory Day

Victor Koksharov: “With our everyday work we must do everything possible to ensure that our people have always a peaceful sky above their heads.”

Rector of the Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov congratulated veterans, students, faculty and staff of the university on the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“The main heroes of the Victory are, of course, our dear veterans. Their incredible strength of spirit and devotion to the Motherland helped, above all, to endure dreadful sufferings, defeat the enemies and win. Despite all difficulties, we must fully fulfill our moral duty to them. And of course, we are all eternally indebted to those who died in the War”, emphasized the rector.

The rector also recalled the feat of the students who went to war and died defending their homeland.

“We remember the feat of our students who went to the front in those terrible years. Many of them didn’t come back to the university, their relatives and friends. It is extremely important to remember what they did to stop the enemy. The unfading glory of the heroes of battles and home front workers is our common historical heritage and the highest spiritual and moral reference point”, said Victor Koksharov.

According to Viktor Koksharov, the feat of the soldiers who fought for Moscow and Stalingrad, the Kursk Bulge, the Siege of Leningrad and the hard battles for the liberation of Europe must not be forgotten in any case.

“With our everyday work we must do everything possible to ensure that our people have always a peaceful sky above their heads”, summed up the rector.
