Ural Federal University: Renovated Internet Room Opened at University
The Directorate of Information Technologies at UrFU renovated the Internet room in auditorium T-212. Students now have access to a computer lab, conference room, and copy center.
The Internet room is suitable for regular lectures and classes using hybrid teaching methods. There is also all the necessary equipment for demonstrating learning materials. Special zones on the wall can be used as a whiteboard.
“The need for modernization was due to the extreme degree of wear of both equipment, communications, and the appearance of the room, as well as the lack of space for teamwork. With the renovations, we now have a space for independent work. Both simple meetings and meetings using video conferencing can be held here – independent control of the process is possible from the wall panel. In addition to the multimedia functionality of the computer lab, an audio conferencing system has been installed on the central table,” said Roman Agrikov, Head of the User Support Division.
The copy center will provide students with printed materials. There is color and black-and-white printing, as well as printing in formats up to A1. The Internet room staff monitors the equipment being used and will help if there are any problems.
