Ural Federal University: Representatives of the Ural and West Siberian Research Centers Met
Representatives of the Ural Interregional Center (UIREC) and the West Siberian Center held a meeting to prepare a cycle of joint project analysis meetings. The first of these events, the topics of which were discussed at the Ural Federal University, will be held this year.
The main focus of the meeting is expected to be the development of joint educational projects and products. Participants will develop forms of scientific work and establish rules of participation in joint projects. They will also establish rules of cooperation in the use of infrastructure of universities and academic institutions.
“It is important to develop cooperative relations between the participants of these centers – universities, companies and representatives of regional authorities – in the framework of implementation of technological projects. The educational component of the centers is no less important. Special attention should be paid to staff training and attracting students to work in youth laboratories,” said Evgeny Gurariy, Assistant to the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Ural Federal District.
Gurariy specifically noted the growing importance of interaction between the two RECs operating in the Federal District.
The work in two RECs unites employees of UrFU, South Ural State University, Kurgan State University, and the University of Tyumen. Representatives of the ministries of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions took part in the meeting. They discussed aspects of the development of tools for the protection and commercialization of intellectual property, as well as the results of the project.
Igor Manzhurov, the UIREC Development Director, recalled that the meeting was organized on the initiative of Yevgeny Kuyvashev, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, and Vladimir Yakushev, the Chairman of the Council of the Center and the Presidential Envoy to the Ural Federal District.
