Ural Federal University: Russian Academy of Sciences Political Scientist on Russian-Indian Relations
The Ural Federal University hosted an open lecture by Aleksey Kupriyanov, a political scientist and Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS) specialist. The expert gave a lecture, during which he spoke about India in the system of international relations in a historical retrospective and modern conditions, peculiarities of the country’s foreign policy, Russian-Indian relations, development of interregional cooperation and the prospects of Indology in Russia.
“Aleksey Kupriyanov emphasized the need to develop the Indological field in the Ural Region, taking into account the growing Russian-Indian partnership. The students asked a large number of questions and received detailed analytical answers. The future internationalists, orientalists, historians received important first-hand information on key trends in the development of modern international relations and expert work in this field,” says Ksenia Muratshina, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory and History of International Relations of UrFU.
Note that Aleksey Kupriyanov is the Head of the Group on South Asia and Indian Ocean at the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, an expert of the Valdai Discussion Club and the Russian International Affairs Council.
