Ural Federal University: Stanislav Naboychenko Street Inaugurated in Vtuzgorodok
One of the greenest and “student” streets in Ekaterinburg’s Vtuzgorodok officially received the name of ex-rector of Polytechnic Institute (now UrFU) Professor Stanislav Naboychenko: an official ceremony took place on April 20.
The section of Kominterna Street which was renamed after the famous Ural metallurgist and scientist by the Commission for Naming Toponymic Objects capital’s administration, houses student dormitories, an indoor arena, a sports complex, and a university swimming pool.
Alumni of different years, his students, associates, colleagues, and relatives came to remember the mentor and head of the Ural Polytechnic Institute.
Warm words in memory of Stanislav Stepanovich were said by Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU; Leonid Rapoport, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region; Inna Osipova, Head of UMMC Personnel Training Department; Evgeniy Naboychenko, Acting Director of UrFU Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Youth Policy, and representatives of the initiative group: Boris Shvarts, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Victoria Group, and Igor Kudryavtsev, Chairman of the UFU Student Squads Veterans Council.
Plans to perpetuate the memory of Professor Naboychenko, who passed away on April 20, 2022, include assigning his name to one of the university classrooms.
