Ural Federal University Strengthens Cooperation with Egypt
Opening of Ural Federal University’s Russian Language Center in Cairo is one of the best examples of cooperation between Russian universities and Egyptian educational institutions, said the Russian Ambassador to the Arab Republic Georgy Borisenko at a meeting with heads of universities.
Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University, and his colleagues took part on December 17 in a forum of foreign graduates from Soviet and Russian universities, which was held in the Egyptian capital with the participation of representatives of higher education systems in the Middle East and Africa.
“We are proud of the foreign graduates of Soviet and Russian universities who, returning to their homelands, work in a variety of areas and prove with their work the high quality of education they received in the Soviet Union and Russia. In addition to their professional skills, they carry knowledge of our country’s culture and traditions, contribute to the preservation of historical truth and maintain the friendly and mutually beneficial relations that underlie our strategic partnership,” Koksharov said.
The head of UrFU noted that 210 students from Egypt are studying at the university.
During his visit to Cairo, Victor Koksharov visited the building of the Russian Language Center, the first graduation of which – 60 students – took place in July of this year. The head of the university met with representatives of Media Arab, UrFU’s partner in Egypt, as well as teachers and students, got acquainted with the conditions in which they study and live.
The Ural Center in Cairo not only trains students, but also represents the UrFU in its interaction with other universities and organizations in Egypt, such as Fayoum University, Sadat Academy, The Egyptian Russian University and Helwan University.
