Ural Federal University: Students Actively Develop IT Competencies

0

The study of programming languages and development in the field of IT is popular among UrFU students. The modern digital environment is rapidly developing and opens up new opportunities for scientific research for both technologists and humanities students. Sophia Polyak, a 4th year Bachelor’s student of Media Communications, shared her experience in the Digital Chair project.

“I was curious about what I could learn at the Digital Chair, so I decided to take the training as part of the project. We study coding during our classes. Writing code is about understanding and knowing algorithms. I like what we are studying,” said Sophia Polyak.

The project has several platforms for studying the same topics. If a student has not had time to master the material in a lecture, it is possible to go through the topic with the help of additional materials. Teachers are open to dialogue with students and are attentive to all their questions. The course is structured in such a way that even students who have not previously engaged in programming can understand all the materials.

“Knowledge of IT can be useful to me in any case, in particular in employment. For me, studying at the Digital Chair is a useful experience. In addition, the last few years have shown how quickly things can change,” Sophia emphasized.

Training under this project will provide students with the most sought-after IT competencies in project and product management, data processing and analysis, digitalization of the economy, marketing and programming.
