Ural Federal University: Students with Disabilities Met with Employers
Employees of the Center for Inclusive Education, Multifunctional Resource Center for Educational Activities, Department of Academic Development of UrFU held a meeting between students and employers. The event took place at the closing ceremony of the Abilympics – the National Championship of Professional Skills.
Employees of Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support (SRFES), the Ural Main Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the branch of JSC “System Operator of the Unified Energy System” “United Dispatch Administration of the Ural Energy System” were invited to the meeting. Employers told the students about their companies and vacant quota work places for people with disabilities.
Representatives of the Central Bank told about the activities of the organization, its main goal, mission, strategy and social policy. Students learned about the conditions and possibilities of professional growth and development, about the categories of specialists who are ready to be hired.
“The Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support is a regional development institution created in 2002 by the regional government to provide financial support for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Today SRFES is an organizer of numerous programs to support young entrepreneurs, one of such programs is the “Start with Confidence” course – a free training program designed to improve the skills of citizens of the Sverdlovsk Region who plan to start their own business and representatives of small and medium businesses in terms of mastering modern knowledge and developing necessary skills to start a business and manage small and medium enterprises in order to improve competitiveness. Anyone interested can take this course,” said Tatiana Leonova, specialist of the Department for Organizational and Methodical Work of the Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support.
The meeting was also attended by Olesya Belousova, Leading Specialist of the Personnel Management Service of the branch of Russian Power System Operator. The company is active in the field of social policy and creating an accessible environment to attract employees with disabilities. Olesya Belousova introduced the participants with the conditions of employment and invited everyone to an introductory tour.
