Ural Federal University Team Wins Ministry’s Youth Business Marathon

The finals of the 2nd All-Russian Marathon of Young Entrepreneurs were a unique technological marathon, which took place from December 7 to 11. It was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Denis Ashirov, Director of the Department of State Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, noted that the All-Russian Competition for Young Entrepreneurs is being held for the second year and interest in it from participants and partners is steadily growing.

“If in 2019 there were about 400 participants, and 50 teams reached the final, then in 2020 this figure has grown significantly: more than 400 people participate only in the final events, which is 85 project teams from 59 educational institutions of higher education”, – said Denis Ashirov.

Almost 1,500 students, graduate students and young specialists from 106 universities of the country took part in the All-Russian Marathon of Young Entrepreneurs. Ural Federal University’s team won in the team rankings.

At the Altair Technopark of MIREA – the Russian Technological University, where the competition was held for the first three days, the contestants took part in business games and master classes, learned about the possibilities of supporting start-up technology businesses. In addition, the participants of the competition got acquainted with the basics of intellectual property protection and the theory of solving inventive problems, and also learned how to correctly present projects to investors.

The leading specialists of the Technopark immersed the participants in the world of universal technologies, without which it is impossible to imagine modern technological entrepreneurship: digital manufacturing, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, nanotechnology and industrial design.

The competition finals were held on December 10-11 as part of the youth program of the VII Annual National Exhibition “VUZPROMEXPO-2020”.
