Ural Federal University: The University Was Ranked among the Best Universities in Russia by Forbes

Ural Federal University is ranked 11th in the ranking of the best universities in Russia, prepared by Forbes magazine. The study was organized for the fourth time and takes into account the quality of education, networking, employers’ evaluation, and international recognition.

“UrFU received the highest score among non-metropolitan universities in terms of the demand for graduates, which takes into account the opinion of 35 leading Russian companies. This confirms the practice-oriented nature of the university’s educational programs,” said Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

According to the rector, the system of project-based learning and individual educational paths that is being implemented at Ural Federal University helps students to be in productive contact with employers. The university has created a new digital service, the personal account of the partner for convenient presentation of project ideas, presentations of the proposed practices, internships and career opportunities.

502 Russian universities (state and private) that offer Bachelor’s and Master’s programs were included in the long list of ratings. Higher educational institutions without budget-funded places, branches and religious organizations were not evaluated in the rating.

The study takes into account the quality of teaching and international activities, the average USE score of admitted students, the demand for graduates and international recognition. A separate metric is the “Forbes factor”, which highlights the universities where children of Russia’s 200 richest businessmen study (studied), as well as the winners of the Forbes “30 under 30” rating of young and successful Russians in 2021.
