Ural Federal University: The University Will Develop New Materials and Educational Programs for the Ural Industry
New educational programs, technological developments and materials for metallurgy will be created at Ural Federal University for the development of the Urals industry. The university became part of the Sverdlovsk dual-purpose scientific and industrial cluster of metallurgy and metalworking. The agreement on its creation was signed at the Innoprom exhibition by Victor Koksharov, the rector of UrFU.
“The consortium brings together the efforts of industrial enterprises, scientific organizations and universities to develop and implement new technologies in the activities of metallurgy and machine building enterprises. It gives an opportunity to apply all instruments for successful realization of the national project “Science and Universities” and creation of the national innovative system”, said Victor Koksharov.
According to the rector, the agreement will strengthen the development of technological entrepreneurship, strengthen the position of the university in the new “Priority 2030” program and the activities of the world-class Ural Interregional Research and Education Center with all forms of state support, which is already being implemented.
“UrFU is ready to support the consortium with its technological developments and new educational programs, which we will develop thanks to the project of advanced engineering schools for the development of enterprises in the cluster both in the Sverdlovsk region and in Russia in general,” rector added.
The cluster agreement will bring together the efforts of the Union of Defense Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Institute for Public-Private Planning, institutes of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, UrFU, and industrial enterprises of the region.
