Ural Federal University: University Develops Cooperation with Jordanian Higher Education Institutions
From November 1 to 4, as part of the visit of Natalia Kovaleva, Academic Mobility Coordinator of the UrFU Center for International Student Mobility and Recruitment, and Sakher Tamimi, Engineer of the Laboratory of Artistic Practices and Museum Technologies and postgraduate student of the Department of Art, Cultural Studies and Design, to Jordan, meetings were held with the management and teaching staff of the University of Jordan and Tafila Technical University. The events were supported by the Russian House in Amman.
The signing of the agreement between the universities was discussed with Prof. Hadeel Yaseen, Director of the International Affairs Unit at the University of Jordan. During the meeting, the participants agreed to sign bilateral agreements on cooperation in academic mobility, as well as education and science. Employees and students of the most famous and largest university of Jordan learned about the exchange and internship programs of the Ural Federal University, as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. The delegation of the Ural Federal University also visited the Arabic language department and the Russian language department.
The Ural Federal University has been cooperating with Tafila Technical University for a long time. Currently, four UrFU students of Oriental Studies and Africana Studies participate in an academic exchange program at Tafila Technical University. In Jordan, UrFU students study Arabic language and culture extensively. Prof. Atef Saleh Almashakbeh, Vice President for Academic Affairy, Doctor Rateb Mohammad Alqatamin, Director of International Relations and Projects Office, and the representatives of the Ural Federal University discussed opportunities for continuing exchange programs, as well as technical and economic programs of the Ural Federal University. Together with Aleksei Bukin, Director of the Russian House in Amman, they discussed the further development of cooperation between two universities, and the possibility of studying at Ural Federal University within the framework of quotas provided by Rossotrudnichestvo.
